ULTIMATE TANNING
We offer a fast developing, natural looking tan that allows you to be sun-kissed fast with minimal downtime. Perfect for a special occasion or last-minute event, the development times for these tans range from 30 minutes to 6 hours.
Our therapist will help you select the ideal colour for your skin upon consultation.
Pre-tan care
Before arriving for your tan appointment, it’s important that you exfoliate your skin – paying careful attention to knees, elbows and heels.
At your appointment, your skin must be free from any moisturiser, oils, deodorant, makeup or perfumes before being sprayed. These products act as a barrier and will have a negative effect on your spray tan.
Any waxing or shaving must be done at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to ensure the pores of your skin are closed.
What should I wear to my spray tan appointment?
Most people just wear a g-string whilst getting sprayed to ensure the best tan possible, however, this is a personal choice so wear what is comfortable for you.
How long does it take?
A spray tan only takes ten minutes and with the heat function on our machines, you will typically be free to go out and enjoy the rest of your day within 20 minutes. Drying time will vary from person to person as it is dependent on the moisture level of your skin.
What should I wear after a spray tan?
We recommend wearing light, loose clothing after your tan as full development will take 8 hours and any undue friction from tight clothing may affect the final result.
What should I be careful of?
Activities that may cause you to perspire more than normal (for example, a workout or spending time in the heat) will reduce the effect of the tanning solution.
During the development time, it’s important that you do not allow your skin to become wet. If your skin does get splashed, dab it dry rather than rubbing and add a little moisturiser to the affected area, blending to an even colour.
After eight hours your tan will have fully developed and you can shower and remove the instant bronzer to reveal your beautiful new tan.
After showering, apply a Black Magic moisturiser twice daily to keep your tan looking fresh. This will also maximise the life of your tan.
Are there any harmful effects?
Dematologists will enthusiastically agree than tanning with a DHA formula is much safer than exposing your skin to hours of sun.
Can I have a spray tan while pregnant?
There are no tests showing that spray tanning during pregnancy is harmful. DHA is made from sugar cane and in the forty years or its use has no known problems.
Can I get a spray tan while breast feeding?
Even though the tanning solution is made from natural products, we suggest that breast feeding mothers leave their bras on whilst getting a spray tan.
Can I swim after having a spray tan?
The use of hot baths, spas and chlorinated pools will reduce the life of your tan.
Will my tan wash off?
No, your tan will not wash off but it will fade just like a natural tan.
Important note
Although you’ll be left with a perfect, natural looking tan, it’s important to remember that this tan does not offer protection from the sun’s harmful rays. Thus it is important that you still continue to use sun protection.
